    Australia’s national charity for those impacted by eating disorders and body image issues, and for the families, friends and communities who support them. You can find support and resources on their website as well as helplines and online support groups.

    The NEDC is a government funded initiative dedicated to developing and implementing a nationally consistent, evidence-based system of care for the prevention and treatment of eating disorders.     A national organisation providing support, education, and advocacy services for carers and families impacted by an eating disorder. Call 1300 195 626.

    HAES Australia is a directory that provides listings of health practitioners around Australia who offer services consistent to the Health at Every Size principles. It lists a range of services, including psychologists, nutritionists and GPs.

  • Lifeline 13 11 12

    Australia’s leading suicide prevention service. Lifeline provides Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24-hour crisis support. You can call their helpline on 13 11 12 to talk to someone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their website offers text and online chats as well as resources for those affected by suicidal thoughts and ideation.

    Beyond Blue is Australia’s mental heath and wellbeing support organisation. They provide support programs to address issues related to depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental illnesses.     A telephone and online counselling service offering support for Australian men anywhere, anytime. You can access 24/7 support by calling 1300 78 99 78 and extra resources, including referrals and online counselling can be accessed via their website.

    Australia-wide anonymous, LGBTQIA+ peer support and referral for people wanting to talk about a range of issues including sexuality, identity, gender, bodies, feelings or relationships.     The UK’s national eating disorder charity. You can find help, resources and webchat services on their website and their national helplines are available 365 days a year, 9am-midnight weekdays and 4pm-midnight on weekends and bank holidays.     The largetst nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders in the United States. You can find information, screening tools, treatment facilities and an online chat tool on their website.
